How to Get the Most Out of Spring Break

As Spring Break approaches, this is a welcoming time to get away from work and school and many families are starting to plan out vacations and activities they can do to spend it together.

The CDC recommends that it is not wise to travel this spring break, since the world is still in the middle of the pandemic, vaccination is still in the early stages and deadly variants are emerging. However, whether you are staying home or going out, it is best to continue to follow all social distancing, masking, hand washing, and CDC outlined precautions.

Here are some ways that you and your family can make the best of spring break while still being safe.

Staying Home

There are many activities you can do at home that can be enjoyable for the whole family such as:

  • Puzzles
  • Board games
  • Video games
  • Try new recipes
  • Have a scavenger hunt
  • Watch classic movies or a marathon of series such as Star Wars or Harry Potter.

Going Out

If you are going out, or vacationing in some place other than your home, there are ways to lower your risk and its important to keep these things in mind.

  • Don’t travel to attend a party, festival, or large event
  • Don’t travel to a crowded destination where it’s difficult to maintain social distancing
  • Do go camping, hiking, and spend time outdoors in areas where it is easy to maintain social distancing
  • If traveling or planning a road trip, drive with only people that are in your household

There are many ways to have fun, spend time with your family members, and enjoy spring break while being safe and social distancing from others. Wear your masks, plan to be outdoors as much as possible, and make the most of your spring break!
